Blue Ghosts in Cullowhee: Firefly Walk

THE TIME HAS COME! Our first firefly walk for this year is happening THIS THURSDAY, May 16 at 8:30 pm! We'll be in Cullowhee this time, at the trails by WCU Campus. We'll meet at the NC Center for the Advancement of Teaching at 276 NCCAT Drive, which is one of the WCU Trailheads. Join us for this magical experience and witness the beauty of the Blue Ghost fireflies, one of the most special kinds in our area! Not only will you get to see them, you'll learn all about their biology with our firefly expert. A $10 donation gets you a bonus flashlight to use on your walk! ALL AGES WELCOME! It's an easy hike with a slight incline at points and a little rocky, so make sure to bring good walking shoes, along with appropriate attire. Also bring a red light flashlight if you have one to limit our disturbance of these fireflies! The forecast so far is clear, but if it calls for storms or heavy rain, this will be postponed.
